Handful of tracks from the Bruton Music compilation Street Level. Check this for a quick summary if Bruton isn't a name you recognize. I think my favorite bit from their description has to be:

Much of the releases of the Bruton Music label fall into what many like to call "copsploitation"; that is, music which would sound not at all out of place in the context of a 1970's police drama film or television program. The music, especially the works by composer Brian Bennett bring to mind filmic chase scenes and other action sequences.

Looking for the astronautsploitation label.

Sound Off

To those here in LA LA Land, I'll be up on the roof of the Standard in downtown this Tuesday, March 8th playing this and that throughout the latest installment of The Series. Click the pic for more.

Stop and Think

Hot Chocolate - Living On A Shoe String (1976) (buy)

Hot Chocolate - Heaven Is In The Backseat Of My Cadillac (1976) (buy)

Second song might make for one of the greatest ad campaigns ever. First one probably could too.

Renée Claude - Je te chercherai (1964) (buy)

Sorry for the clipping - looking for a better copy.

Sound Man

ABC - Minneapolis (1987) (buy)

This B-side would definitely outshine the single it accompanies if said single didn't sport a music video featuring a slingshot wielding skateboard killer creeping around Paris.
